NOVOTEST Lab UCI Pro Wireless Hardness Tester
The NOVOTEST Lab UCI Pro is a next-generation portable hardness tester that uses Ultrasonic Contact Impedance (UCI) technology. It works as a fully standalone instrument, with its own display and controls, and connecting it to a smartphone or tablet through the NOVOTEST Lab app adds advanced calibration, data analysis, reporting and cloud synchronisation.
At around 160 g with up to 24 hours of battery life, it is easy to carry and use all day. UCI testing leaves only a micron-scale indentation, so it can measure components of almost any size and shape, from large structures down to parts weighing a few grams and plates around 1 mm thick, and it suits coatings and surface-hardened layers where other methods are not suitable.
The tester is factory-calibrated for HV, HRC, HRB, HRA, HB, HK and MPa scales, with hardness conversions built in to ASTM E140 and ISO 18265, and is pre-configured for eight materials: steel, alloy steel, stainless steel, cast iron, nickel, aluminium, brass and copper. You can also create your own materials and calibrate them without reference blocks. A removable protective indenter cap lets you reach grooves, gear teeth, internal hole surfaces and recesses up to 20 mm deep.
