NOVOTEST T-UD3 Combined Hardness Tester (UCI + Leeb)
The NOVOTEST T-UD3 combines two hardness testing methods in one instrument: Ultrasonic Contact Impedance (UCI, to ASTM A1038) and Leeb rebound (to ASTM A956). You can change probe types without switching the unit off, and it recognises the connected probe automatically, so one tester covers metal products of many shapes, structures and surface conditions.
The UCI probes can test small parts from 100 g and 1 mm thick, complex shapes such as grooves and curved surfaces, hardened layers produced by nitriding or cementation, and products with poorly prepared surfaces, mirror-finish shafts, blades and gear teeth. Thin sheet can be tested with the optional UCI probe test stand. The Leeb probes cover heavier and larger components, and the tester works with D, DC, DL, C, G, D+15 and E type probes.
A full-colour 320×240 display, 360° measurement direction, 88 combinations of materials and hardness scales and a built-in colour camera for documenting measurements make it a practical field instrument, in a waterproofed housing with rubber bumpers. The optional NOVOTEST Lab app adds Bluetooth data viewing, geolocation tagging, report generation, cloud sync and wireless printing.
