NOVOTEST UD2303 Ultrasonic Flaw Detector
The NOVOTEST UD2303 is a compact, lightweight ultrasonic flaw detector for checking the quality of metals, plastics, glass and composite materials. It is used to find hidden corrosion, cracks, internal defects and inconsistencies in a material, to measure thickness and to inspect welded seams, and it suits both production and incoming inspection.
A 200 MHz sampling frequency and a fast averaging algorithm give accurate measurements and a stable signal. The detector offers ASD (two-zone automatic signal detection with flexible alarms), TVG to even out signals from defects at different depths, DAC curves for rejecting products, and a DGS mode that builds its curve automatically. A dedicated AWS mode inspects welded joints to the American Welding Society D1.1 standard.
At about 500 g it is easy to carry on site. Calibration is automatic through a clear menu, the screen can be rotated for left- or right-handed use, readings can be shown in mm or inches, and measurements are stored in memory and can be transferred to a PC. The built-in Li-ion battery runs for 8 hours or more.
